Flowers for Mum by Stephanie Kaduck
February 1 - March 31
– Even the most noxious weeds are a beautiful and fragrant gift when clenched in a tiny fist of someone who loves you –
Over the course of three decades visual artist Stephanie Kaduck of Swift Current painted these artworks from a personal collection of flowers given to her and saved out of sentiment. They represented great meanings in her life – valentine gifts, birthdays, marriage, childbirths, Mother’s Day, love, loss and death. Though the stories behind the flower-works are personal and kept private the emotion and sentiment felt is expressed in these dramatic paintings.
This exhibition of oil paintings titled Flowers for Mum makes a return appearance at the Lyric Theatre in complement to the upcoming play Motherhood Out Loud starting March 22.
Organized by AGSC with curator, Kim Houghtaling
Extension exhibitions at the Lyric Theatre are showing during Lyric events.
