C3 Adventure – The Canadian West Coast by Geoff Phillips

Artist-Painter, Geoff Phillips of Maple Creek, SK, was an artist on the west coast leg of the 2017 Canada 150 C3 ship voyage. From his experience he painted eight large scale oil on canvas works responding to the landscape and locations they visited.

Comics, Characters and Storyboarding (ages 15-adult)

Learn about character design and storyboarding techniques used in comics, illustration and animation! A weekend Intensive workshop for beginners and those with some experience on the pottery wheel. In this two day weekend workshop, students will use the pottery wheel to make cups, bowls, mugs, etc. Hand building may be taught if requested.

Five fun days of making art outdoors and in the big top tent at Gowan’s Grove, about 20 minutes south of Swift Current. Students will meet at the Art Gallery in the morning and travel to the Grove in the Gallery’s van. Mornings will be art expeditions into the landscape, drawing, painting and photographing from nature. Afternoons will be back in the tent, making a variety of sculpture projects.
