Along the walkways and public spaces of Swift Current’s largest and newest Long Term Care Centre the Art Gallery of Swift Current has installed a variety of theme exhibition vignettes drawn from the AGSC permanent collection and the Cypress Health Region art collection.

Imagination Station (Ages 4 to 9) – Winter 2019
A fun art program for young children. Come and explore drawing, painting, collage and sculpture using a variety of media.

Unleash your Inner Comic Artist: Intro to Comics and Cartooning (ages 11 to 14)
Learn about the world of comics and cartoons! Use materials that the professionals use, such as col-erase pencils, inks and nib pens, and learn basic visual storytelling techniques!

Samskāra thematically focuses on energy, the repetitive patterns humans undertake, and the interrelationships of land and animals.
Find out more »Beginner Stained Glass: Intro to Mosaic Glass Panel (ages 14 to adult)
An introduction to the art of stained glass using the mosaic panel technique! This two day workshop uses the bright and colourful cast off scrap from other stained glass techniques and repurposes them into gorgeous works of art! Students will earn the basics of design, panel construction and grout into create a one-of-a-kind panel!

Art Camp (Ages 10-17)
Five fun days of making art outdoors and in the big top tent at Gowan’s Grove, about 20 minutes south of Swift Current. Students will meet at the Art Gallery in the morning and travel to the Grove in the Gallery’s van. Mornings will be art expeditions into the landscape, drawing, painting and photographing from nature. Afternoons will be back in the tent, making a variety of sculpture projects.

Summer Art Studio (Ages 8-11)
Explore the world of Art using a variety of materials and techniques including painting, india ink, felting, and sculpture. Kids will create fun projects while learning about colour, and techniques used by famous artists throughout history. This program will be in both indoor studio settings and outdoor locations. Meet at the Dickson Community Centre. Transportation to alternate locations will be provided.
