We invite you and your students or community group to the Art Gallery to participate in educational tours and hands-on workshops.
With the help of our professional staff, you can use Art exhibitions to enhance several areas of the school curriculum, including Social Studies, Language Arts, Science, and Visual Art. We help your participants to make sense of what they see.
Discovery Tours are guided explorations of art exhibitions that encourage inquiry and investigation. We welcome schools and community groups alike. Tours are available all year round, except during holidays and exhibition changes.
No Charge.
We can plan tours to link to many curriculum needs.
20 – 45 minutes. Tour length can be adjusted to your group’s needs.
Art Gallery of Swift Current:
411 Herbert Street East, Swift Current, SK
Following the tour, your group may participate in a hands-on art workshop related to the exhibition, including age- appropriate interactive activities.
$8.00 per participant for materials.
Please note: Fee may increase depending on special activity requests.
We recommend 45 minutes to an hour for hands-on workshops.
We can accommodate groups of up to 30 (Maximum) at the Dickson.
Dickson Community Centre:
751 Lorne Street West
We will invoice your group. We can also accept cash, debit, credit or cheque at the gallery on the day of the tour.
While the tour will take place at the Art Gallery on 411 Herbert Street East, all activities will take place at the Dickson Community Centre on 751 Lorne Street West which is a 5-minute drive from the gallery.
