Classes with less than the minimum number of registrations required will be cancelled 3-5 days before the start date.
If a class is full, please sign up for the waitlist. AGSC will always try to run an additional class if there is enough interest!
PLEASE NOTE – Prices are calculated based on the cost of materials, instructor fees and admin costs. All art materials are included in the class fee.
Children & Youth
Introduction to Acrylic Painting (ages 9 to 12)

In this kids art workshop, participants will learn studio safety and clean up procedures along with basic acrylic painting techniques over a 6 week period. Participants will practice the techniques including colour mixing, wet on wet, dry brush and impasto. The final classes will focus on an acrylic painting on canvas using a combination of all basic techniques.

Paper Quilling for Beginners (ages 16 to adult)

Paper quilling is an enjoyable way to create whimsical novelties or masterful works of art. You can quickly roll up a greeting card or spend hundreds of hours manipulating pieces of paper into intricate paper mosaics, pictures or even sculpture. How you use the craft and what you make is really up to you and how much time you want to spend. This is a craft that requires time and patience to create beautiful results! In this class you will learn the basics of paper quilling. You will learn how to use the tools, how to make paper quilling shapes, create beautiful cards and 3 dimensional pieces of art work.

The Serving Tray Workshop - Extruder and Slab with slip decoration (ages 12* to adult)

The extruder is a tool that squeezes clay into different shapes. We will use this tool to make shapes which can be used in the construction of serving trays. You will learn to decorate your creation with clay slips and underglazes. We will apply clear glaze to the tray and fire it for you after you decorate it.

Surface Decoration - Mishima (Ages 12 to adult)

In this workshop you will learn the technique of Mishima. This surface design technique is a way of drawing on clay by scratching and then inlaying slips of contrasting colours into the lines on the surface.
