If a class is full, please sign up for the waitlist. AGSC will always try to run an additional class if there is enough interest!

Are you curious about using watercolour paints but don’t know where to begin? In this 6-week course, participants will learn about various ways to use watercolour paints, get to try different painting surfaces and learn to create landscapes, portraits, and illustrations. Techniques will include gradients, wet and dry brush techniques, colour mixing, light and shadow, and more.

Visual journals are journals or diaries that take a visual-art approach in addition to or instead of a written approach. They document your day-to-day life, and put you in a state of constant observation- what will you notice about your life and the world around you?
Each week participants will explore a different approach to visual journaling including comics, zines, scrapbooking and more!
This class is a great opportunity to get into the habit of daily art-making and journaling!
1-hour class weekly for 7 weeks, plus inspirational prompts to keep you journaling in between classes.

Participants will create their own custom sketchbook from scratch, choosing papers & prompts, designing their own cover & binding it using a wire coil binding machine. Time will be spent creating drawing prompts to inspire creativity, as well as beginning to draw and work in the sketchbooks.

Have you ever wanted to make your own moving puppet?
Learn to make your own custom marionette puppet using cardboard, glue, zip ties, and plaster rolls. Then, paint it with acrylic paint. Create your favourite character or invent your own!
November 23 and 24, 10:00-3:00 pm each day with an hour-long lunch break.
