Classes with less than the minimum number of registrations required will be cancelled 3-5 days before the start date.

If a class is full, please sign up for the waitlist. AGSC will always try to run an additional class if there is enough interest!

PLEASE NOTE – Prices are calculated based on the cost of materials, instructor fees and admin costs. All art materials are included in the class fee.

Painting Acrylic Landscapes
(ages 10-14)

Create an 12″x 18” acrylic landscape. Learn the basics of how to prep and layer paint onto a canvas in this step-by-step workshop. Participants will follow along with the instructor as she guides you in painting a Saskatchewan landscape.

Ceramic Decals

Do you have a handmade piece of pottery that could use some pizazz?

Participants will learn the process of applying a waterslide decal to their own glaze-fired pottery.

Low-fire to high-fire clay bodies will work well, but note that decals stay the truest colour on light or white surfaces. Decals are included in the workshop fees, and sample pottery will be available to experiment with.

For those who have some acrylic painting experience. This class will go into more depth on colour theory and various painting techniques, as well as focus on ways to enhance your paintings and find inspiration. Some Canadian art history will be discussed as well.

Intro to Watercolour Painting

Are you curious about using watercolour paints but don’t know where to begin? In this 6-week course, participants will learn about various ways to use watercolour paints and how to create landscapes, paintings, or illustrations. Techniques will include gradients, wet and dry brush techniques, colour mixing, light and shadow, and more.

A paintbrush on a canvas

Bring your art project and get some work done while spending time with other artists!

We encourage you to bring your own materials, though we will have a small selection of mixed media materials freely available for use, along with standing and tabletop easels, drawing boards, and cleaning materials.

Open to artists of all skill levels. An art gallery staff member will be present, but there will be no formal instruction.

Intermediate and Advanced throwing with Jay Kimball

Glaze Mixing 101 with Jay Kimball
(ages 16 to adult)

April 20 & 23, 2024

This 2-part hands-on Master Class is for potters or ceramic artists interested in expanding their glazing techniques.

With Jay Kimball’s expertise, Students will learn to mix a base recipe from scratch, adjust the formula by volume, and gain a basic understanding of how to alter the glaze to create new and interesting desired results with a range of tests. KN95 masks and all glaze materials will be included in the fee.

 

Part 1: Jay will teach glaze fundamentals, with hands-on mixing and application to test tiles

Saturday, April 20, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, with an hour-long lunch break.

 

Part 2: After firing, participants will review and discuss the results with Jay.

Cancellation Policy

 

  • Cancellations made 14 or more days before class starting date will receive a 100% refund.
  • Cancellations made 7-13 days before class starting date will receive a 50% refund.
  • Students who cancel 6 days or less before class starting date will not receive a refund.
