Classes with less than the minimum number of registrations required will be cancelled 3-5 days before the start date.
If a class is full, please sign up for the waitlist. AGSC will always try to run an additional class if there is enough interest!
PLEASE NOTE – Prices are calculated based on the cost of materials, instructor fees and admin costs. All art materials are included in the class fee.
Kids and Familes
Little Art Explorers (ages 2-5 with caregiver accompaniment)

Do you have a little one who loves to explore and play? Little Art Explorers is a playful, process-based art class designed for young children who are ready to explore art through their senses. Rather than focusing on creating a specific “perfect” finished product, children will experiment with colour, texture, shape, movement, and different materials while developing fine motor skills. Each week will introduce a new way of making art through activities such as finger painting, stamping, texture exploration, collage, painting with unconventional tools, and simple three-dimensional art.

Drawing Bugs! (ages 8-11)

Bugs are weird, fascinating, colourful, and surprisingly fun to draw! Drawing Bugs! introduces young artists to observational drawing through insects and other tiny creatures. Participants will learn how to break complicated subjects into simple shapes before adding details, texture, patterns, and personality.
The class will combine observation with imagination, allowing students to create both realistic drawings and their own unusual bug-inspired characters. Participants will leave with a collection of insect drawings and a final illustrated “bug page” featuring their own creature.

What if you could make your own paint from things found in your kitchen or backyard? In Nature’s Paint Box, participants will become “paint scientists” and explore how everyday natural materials can be transformed into colourful art materials. Participants will learn about colour while having the opportunity to experiment with making pigments from ingredients that can be found around home such as turmeric, beetroot, coffee, tea, charcoal, spinach, and red cabbage. Once you’ve created your own paints, it’s time to make some artwork with them!

Art Without Rules is an experimental mixed-media workshop for people who want to make art without worrying about whether they are “good at art.”
Participants will be encouraged to experiment, make mistakes, combine unexpected materials, and explore different ways of creating. Rather than following a single step-by-step project, participants will work through a series of creative prompts and experiments before developing their favourite ideas into a finished piece.
This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as experienced artists who want to break out of their usual creative habits.

- Cancellations made 14 or more days before class starting date will receive a 100% refund.
- Cancellations made 7-13 days before class starting date will receive a 50% refund.
- Students who cancel 6 days or less before class starting date will not receive a refund.
