ABOUT THE WORKSHOP SERIES: The Art of Framing Artwork is a free workshop series that takes place over 2 days, and although participants don’t need to attend both sessions, it is strongly encouraged.
The workshop sessions run from 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. with a 45-minute lunch break. Please bring your own lunch. No other materials or previous experience is required.
ABOUT WORKSHOP SESSION I – SATURDAY Includes a historical tour of general framing style and methods, spotlighting contemporary framing strategies. Participants will learn practical considerations, including framing aesthetics, archival concerns, weighing economy, simple techniques for matting small-scale artworks on paper, properly hinge mounting work and other how-tos.
ABOUT WORKSHOP SESSION II – SUNDAY
Features approaches to framing works on panel and canvas, including a demonstration of properly preparing a wood panel and a simple shadow box method for framing small-scale works on paper.

We encourage you to bring your own materials, though we will have a small selection of mixed media materials freely available for use, along with standing and tabletop easels, drawing boards, and cleaning materials. Open to artists of all skill levels. An art gallery staff member will be present, but there will be no formal instruction. Pre-registration is required for each session.

Dive into colour theory with renowned artist Judy Anderson in this intensive 2-day Masterclass Workshop!
Participants will gain hands-on practice in mixing colours and building their own colour wheel using acrylic paint before applying their newfound knowledge to their artwork through abundant in-class painting time.
