For those who are new to working with clay. Participants will be introduced to clay as a material and learn several techniques for creating objects with it. In this course, you can expect to learn how to make and finish basic shapes. We will use the pottery wheel, slab roller, and extruder, as well as a variety of hand-forming techniques.

In this intermediate to advanced pottery workshop, you will learn how to construct a teapot. Through a series of demonstrations and hands-on experiences, you will learn how to make lids, spouts, and handles. Troubleshoot “what makes a good teapot” and walk away from the weekend with a finished product. The studio will bisque fire your teapot for you. By request, a clear glaze could be applied and glaze fired if you do not wish to glaze the teapot yourself.
Wheel throwing experience required.

In this workshop, you will learn how to make a one-of-a-kind planter pot using hand-building techniques. The pot will not be larger than 10″ in any direction and will be designed for use in the home. Your creation will be glazed/fired for you. When you pick up your finished pot, you get to choose from a small selection of plants to take home and enjoy in your new planter!
No prior experience needed.

Bring your art project and get some work done while spending time with other artists! We encourage you to bring your own materials, though we have a selection of mixed media materials freely available for use, along with standing and tabletop easels, drawing boards, and cleaning materials. Open to artists of all skill levels. An art gallery staff member will be present, but there will be no formal instruction. Pre-registration is required for each session.
