The Art Gallery of Swift Current is pleased to announce the newest member of our team, Taneshea Francis. She joined us this month as our Gallery Assistant Intern.
Taneshea is an Indigenous advocate & artist from Nekaneet Cree Nation. She is passionate about sharing her culture, creating art, & engaging with the community. Taneshea teaches art & culture workshops for all ages with her Kokum, Elouise Mosquito, who is her greatest influence & inspiration. She leads programs with the Swift Current Library including a children’s story circle & Chinook School Division including book readings & craft days. She recently obtained a Certificate of Liberal Arts from the University of Regina, through which she explored a wide range of topics & fields of study. Her art practice includes painting, embroidery, & leather work with a focus on traditional Cree beadwork.
