AGSC Welcomes New Director, Terri Fidelak
Terri Fidelak, Art Director AGSC

In February, AGSC will welcome Terri Fidelak as the new director of the Art Gallery of Swift Current.

Terri Fidelak (she/her) is an artist, writer, and arts organizer with over a decade of experience, most recently as Program and Outreach Director at CARFAC Saskatchewan. There, she developed innovative new programming focused on nurturing arts writers and artists across the province through exciting mentorship opportunities.

Terri has engaged in numerous community art initiatives over the years, leading projects with organizations like the Dunlop Art Gallery and Common Weal Community Arts, as well as with diverse schools. She has contributed as a board member with Neutral Ground Artist-Run Centre and the EMMA International Collaboration and is currently an Artistic Associate with Curtain Razors Theatre in Regina. Alongside her participation in various artist residencies (including at Medalta International Artist Residency in Alberta, White Rabbit Arts in Nova Scotia, and Signal Fire Arts in Oregon), these experiences have shaped Terri’s interest in cultivating a dynamic and inclusive arts ecology.

As an artist, Terri’s work in sculpture, drawing, social practice, and performance explores themes of attention, value, and interconnectivity. Her work is among SK Arts’ Permanent Collection as well as private collections in Canada, the US, and Japan.

“I’m honoured to step into this role at the Art Gallery of Swift Current, and I look forward to discovering how I may support and enhance the gallery with my vision as my team, and I build on Heather Benning’s excellent work. I’m excited to meet local artists and communities and forge partnerships that will continue the gallery’s legacy of offering artful connections to all people in the southwest.”
