AGSC is excited to announce our new Curator of Exhibitions and Programming, Luke Maddaford!
Luke Maddaford

Luke Maddaford is an artist, writer, and curator working to build community, create dialogues, and contribute to cultural sustainability. With this focus, Luke has done public programming for the Marion Nicoll Gallery, Art Windsor-Essex, the University of Windsor, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, and Arts Council Windsor and Region. Luke founded LEFT Contemporary in Windsor, ON, as a grassroots curatorial project and is a founding editor of off centre, an online publication committed to writing about art and artists outside of major urban centres. Both as a curator and artist, Luke is interested in regionality, queer culture, material culture, archives, community networks, and local histories. His interdisciplinary work has been exhibited throughout Canada, and he has participated in residencies in Alberta and Ontario.

On his appointment at AGSC, Luke says: “I’m incredibly excited to join the team at the Art Gallery of Swift Current. Having grown up in Saskatchewan, it’s a pleasure to return and get to know a new community. I’m looking forward to learning about what Swift Current has to offer and working to create exciting cultural programming for the region.”

We are so pleased to welcome Luke! His fresh perspective and rich experience will certainly help drive the gallery’s programming and community engagement in new directions. We look forward to making introductions within the community. Please join us in welcoming him to Swift Current!
