Call for Submissions
The Art Gallery of Swift Current is seeking submissions from Saskatchewan artists for finished artwork to be included in a curated exhibition opening in October 2025.

The exhibition will explore Saskatchewan’s built environment, including work that prompts us to re-evaluate the built environment and how we interact with it, considering such questions as:

How do spaces and places contribute to cultural identity?
How do we interact with the built environments we encounter?
How do we relate to the spaces and places we interact with?
How does architecture and the built environment convey or invoke emotion?
The exhibition aims to consider architecture and the built environment, not in terms of form or function, but in terms of relationality and affect.

We are seeking work that explores contemporary or historic relationships to the built environment and may engage the following topics:
  • architecture
  • construction
  • roadways
  • city planning
  • urban sprawl/development
  • wayfinding/mapping
  • placemaking
  • architectural decay
  • domesticity
  • agriculture
  • infrastructure

Deadline: April 1, 2025

Submission Guidelines:

To submit, please send the following to l.maddaford@swiftcurrent.ca
  • artist bio (max 200 words)
  • statement about submitted artwork (max 500 words)
  • maximum 10 photos and 3 videos

If submitting more than one artwork, please include an image list.
